Smile Cookies are back for Bissell!

From April 27 to May 3, the proceeds from every Smile Cookie purchased at the two Beaumont Tim Hortons locations will go directly toward Bissell Centre programs. These funds help us meet people where they are — providing stability, connection, and hope when life gets difficult.

What Your Cookie Can Do

A little girl named Lily came to one of our programs with her grandmother—quiet, unsure, and carrying more than we realized.

At first, they stayed on the edges. Lily was shy. Her grandma was hesitant. They didn’t say much, but they kept coming back.

Week by week, trust grew. Lily found comfort, made friends, and began to feel safe enough to just be a kid. Her grandmother stayed longer, asked questions, and eventually shared more of their story.

That’s when we learned they were experiencing homelessness—and just how heavy their burden had become.

We were able to adapt: offering longer rest periods, clean clothes, and extra one-on-one time when it was needed most.

Now, Lily walks through the doors with a grin. Her grandmother leaves with a lighter heart, knowing they’re not alone. Together, they’ve found safety, stability, and a community of care.
