Outreach Housing Team

The sole purpose of the Outreach Housing Team is to locate, engage, and house people who are homeless. Consisting of seven outreach workers, the team will work in under-serviced and unreached areas of the city where homeless people congregate.

Housing Services

Being homeless means seldom being safe, both on the streets and in shelters. There are few safe spaces for the homeless.   We believe that everyone deserves to have a safe place to call home. Our range of housing services includes our Homeless to Homes, Community Bridge and our Outreach Housing Team.

Employment Services

Workforce Development Program
Workforce Development is our robust, employment training program. We have temporarily paused our intake for new students. This means that we cannot accept new applicants for this program right now. Please check back for more information and updates on when we can once again accept new applicants.

Mental Health Services

Our Mental Health support staff work with individuals who have mental health concerns, and often concurrent addictions issues, who do not have appropriate supports to address their daily living needs. Mental Health Services staff help people to function successfully in the community by reducing the barriers involved in meeting their economic, social and personal needs.

Supportive Housing for Adults with FASD

Bissell Centre provides supportive housing for people with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). This is the first such facility in Canada that offers 24 hour support services for people with FASD.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum of Services

Our Fetal Alcohol Spectrum of Services (FASS) program provides short– and long–term supports for the well-being of adults who have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Through community development, advocacy, and intensive support, we can help improve the lives of people with FASD.

Community Bridge (Eviction Support)

The Community Bridge is a rapid response intervention providing support to stop an eviction, disconnection or foreclosure. It is a one-time assistance program to be used as a last resort once all other options have been explored. Households working with Community Bridge need to be willing to explore with us all resources available to prevent their loss of housing.
