How Donations Are Used

Most donated items are shared directly with community members through Bissell Centre programs, outreach teams, and partners. Depending on current needs, your donation may:

  • Be given to someone accessing housing, family, or mental health supports
  • Go to a parent in our Child and Family Services programs
  • Support someone newly housed in need of household basics
  • Be shared through partner organizations or outreach teams
  • Help meet urgent needs during cold snaps, heat waves, or emergencies

Some items may also be directed to the Bissell Thrift Shop, which helps fill an important gap by offering low-cost essentials to others in the community.

Your Donations Help People Thrive

Each item you give helps someone feel safe, seen, and supported—whether it’s a clean pair of socks, a warm weather kit, or a toothbrush.

Thank you for helping kids, adults, and families take steps toward stability.
