Currently, Bissell Centre is looking for a FASD Systems Navigator to join our dedicated FASS, FASD Family Support Services team as we journey with the Community towards an elimination of poverty. How You’ll Make an Impact?
The FASD System Navigator works with adults diagnosed with or who may have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder FASD System Navigator. They will provide timely communication, referrals, and education, to individuals who inquire about FASD programs via email, phone, or on-site at the agency location. This position will provide referrals, system navigation and information to vulnerable individuals and families, based on strong knowledge of FASD and the social service sector. The System Navigator will respond to inquiries on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum of Services referral line and be able to communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders and service providers.
The System Navigator will provide case management support through a client centered, strengths-based approach that is rooted in harm reduction. The successful candidate requires successful working relationships with participants that support their ability to reach their goals and a solid understanding of FASD and trauma informed practice.
- Provide ongoing supportive case management and system navigation for adults diagnosed or who may have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
- Conduct intake, provide referrals, and information, for individuals and families who are inquiring about FASD support and programs via in person, email, or phone.
- Initiate and complete ongoing needs assessments, referrals, and advocacy.
- Provide solutions to individuals and families in crisis who are unable to access support through referrals to appropriate internal and external resources.
- Identify areas where participants would benefit from additional support, system navigation, access necessary services, resources, and government benefits for which they are eligible.
What You’ll Bring?
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in social work, social science, or related field and/or comparable experience with FASD, disabilities
- Employees with Social Work Diploma/Degree/Master’s are required to provide and maintain ongoing registration, in good standing, with Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) as per Alberta Health Professions Act
- Minimum of 1 year work experience with vulnerable, marginalized, or at-risk populations

- 1 FASD Navigator – Contract until November 30, 2027, Full-Time role 40 hours per week

Wage: $23.59/hourly
