Currently, Bissell Centre is looking for a Family Support Worker to join us as we journey with the Community towards an elimination of poverty. If you’re ready to bring your heart to a fast-paced, collaborative environment, join us in making an impact in our community.
How You’ll Make an Impact?
The Family Support Worker provides direct, community-based support to children, youth, and families. The Family Support Worker partners with families to strengthen parenting capacity, enhance child safety and well-being, build family resilience, and support positive outcomes for children and youth. The role focuses on proactive support, family preservation, reunification, and helping families access services and resources that address identified needs.
- Enhance and execute comprehensive case plans, ensuring participant goals are met through consistent follow-up and measurable outcomes.
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to a caseload of approximately 30 participants, prioritizing safety, dignity, and individualized care.
- Engage in proactive, outreach-focused service delivery to connect with participants in the community and minimize barriers to access.
- Facilitate supported referrals to community and government resources, ensuring a warm hand-off and successful integration with external services.
- Participate in a rotational after-hours on-call schedule to provide essential support and crisis intervention as required by program needs.
What You’ll Bring?
- Degree or Diploma in related area
- Minimum 1-year related employment experience (e.g., high-risk populations, case management, mental health and addictions).
- Alberta Class 5 License, satisfactory driver’s abstract and a vehicle
