Currently, Bissell Centre is looking for a Business Methods Analyst Student to join our dedicated Resource Development team as we journey with the Community towards an elimination of poverty. How You’ll Make an Impact?
The Business Methods Analyst Student will support agency-wide program planning, process documentation, and project management capacity within Bissell Centre. Reporting to the Director of Resource Development, this position will work with leadership, program teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners to gather information, standardize program and project planning documents, document current and future-state processes, and create practical tools for upcoming organizational projects.
This role will help strengthen consistency, accountability, and collaboration by supporting common documentation standards, ensuring process maps are developed and updated according to Agency standards, assisting with a simple framework to identify and monitor process improvements, and helping develop a sustainable project management approach that makes effective use of available technology.
This position is an 8-week contract funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. In accordance with program requirements, applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment. Candidates must also be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals granted refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Collaborate with leadership, program teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners to gather information and clarify program or project purpose, scope, timelines, roles, and deliverables.
- Create, update, and organize standard program planning and project management documents, such as project charters, scope summaries, workplans, timelines, action trackers, decision logs, risk and issue logs, and status updates.
- Review existing planning and process documentation and recommend simple templates, naming conventions, and documentation standards to improve consistency across teams.
- Work with leadership and individual departments to review current agency-wide processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and document practical opportunities for improvement.
What You’ll Bring?
- Enrolled in, or recently completed, post-secondary education in Business Analysis, Business Administration, Information Systems, Project Management, Nonprofit Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience or coursework related to program planning documentation, process mapping, business analysis, project management, systems thinking, or continuous improvement is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint. Familiarity with project management, process mapping, workflow, or documentation tools is considered an asset.
