Currently, Bissell Centre is looking for a Driver/Swamper to join our dedicated Thrift Shop team as we journey with the Community towards an elimination of poverty.  If you’re ready to bring your heart to a fast-paced, collaborative environment, join us in making an impact in our community.

How You’ll Make an Impact?

Reporting to the Associate Store Manager, Thrift Shop, the Driver/Swamper plays a crucial role in our logistics and transportation operations. This position involves both driving responsibilities and assisting in the loading and unloading of goods, making it essential for maintaining smooth and efficient delivery processes. The ideal candidate should be a reliable and safety-conscious individual, capable of handling driving duties and providing valuable support during deliveries.

  • Driving: Operate company vehicles, such as vans, trucks, or delivery vehicles, to transport goods and products to designated locations following assigned routes and schedules.
  • Loading and Unloading: Assist in the loading and unloading of goods onto and off the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling and secure placement to prevent damage during transit.
  • Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of items loaded and unloaded, cross-checking with delivery manifests or invoices to verify that the correct quantities and products are transported.
  • Route Navigation: Plan and execute efficient routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption while adhering to traffic and safety regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly to the appropriate personnel.

What You’ll Bring?

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
