Strathcona High School Fundraiser
Students from Strathcona High School’s Leadership Program raised funding by partnering with city businesses, the surrounding community, and the City of Edmonton Task Force to End Poverty to support their 24 hour Bike-a-Thon.
The students raised $190,000 in a five week period, which will allow us to launch a new program capable of housing about 100 more homeless people every year.
Circle K Fundraiser
Circle K International is a global organization with an affiliation with the University of Alberta. During the festive season, U of A students wrap Christmas gifts in local Hudson’s Bay stores asking shoppers to make a minimum donation to Bissell Centre.
Last year, they raised over $13,000 to support programs for individuals and families in poverty who rely on our Childcare and Drop-in Centre.
Bisset Elementary Fundraiser
Grade 6 students from Bisset Elementary School took the initiative and held a bottle drive and collected warm clothing from their community.
The funds raised from the bottle drive and the clothing donations provided immediate assistance for people in our Drop-in Centre.
Caprice West Fundraiser Sale
Caprice West Consignment held a sidewalk sale of women’s clothing with proceeds supporting the rebuilding efforts of our Bissell Thrift Shop.
During their one day event, they raised $1,200 and donated 12 bags of clothing for women who rely on our Bissell Thrift Shop to find high quality clothing at low prices.
