Strathcona High School Fundraiser

The Event

Students from Strathcona High School’s Leadership Program raised funding by partnering with city businesses, the surrounding community, and the City of Edmonton Task Force to End Poverty to support their 24 hour Bike-a-Thon.

The Impact

The students raised $190,000 in a five week period, which  will allow us to launch  a new program capable of housing about  100 more homeless people every year.


Circle K Fundraiser

The Event

Circle K International is a global organization with an affiliation with the University of Alberta. During the festive season, U of A students wrap Christmas gifts in local Hudson’s Bay stores asking shoppers to make a minimum donation to Bissell Centre.

The Impact

Last year, they raised over $13,000 to  support programs for individuals and families in poverty who rely on our Childcare and Drop-in Centre.


Bisset Elementary Fundraiser

The Event

Grade 6 students from Bisset Elementary School took the initiative and held a bottle  drive and collected  warm clothing from their community.

The Impact

The  funds raised from the bottle drive and the clothing donations provided immediate assistance  for people in  our Drop-in Centre.


Caprice West Fundraiser Sale

The Event

Caprice West Consignment held a sidewalk sale of women’s clothing with proceeds supporting the rebuilding efforts of our Bissell Thrift Shop.

The Impact

During their one day event, they raised $1,200  and donated 12 bags of clothing for  women who rely on our Bissell Thrift Shop to find high quality clothing at low prices.
