Volunteer

Over 1,200 people volunteer at Bissell Centre each year, spending almost 15,000 hours supporting the organisation’s programs and community. Volunteers are critical to Bissell Centre and play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission.


Casino Volunteers Needed!

 
Bissell Centre participates in charitable gaming activities to raise funds for various programs and services. We are looking for volunteers to help with Casinos on Sunday June 4th and Monday June 5th, 2017.

 
Please note that applications for key roles such as a GM, alternate GM, Banker, and Count Room Supervisor, must be submitted to the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission by April 4th.

Regular/Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

Interested in a regular, ongoing commitment?

  • Most roles are available Monday to Friday 9 AM – 4 PM. Limited options available on Saturdays. No evening options available at this time.
  • Minimum commitment of three months working at least 2 shifts per month.
  • Requirements include: online application form, interview and orientation meeting, criminal records check, child intervention check (as applicable), and two references.

Special Event Opportunities

Looking for a one-time commitment?

We host a number of special events throughout the year, which require more volunteers. These occasions are suitable for corporate and community-based volunteers groups, as well as individuals who are looking for one-time commitments.

Group Opportunities

Looking for a way to give back as a team?

We invite families, friends, co-workers, and student groups ranging from 2 to 10 people to volunteer at Bissell Centre. Groups are welcome to come one time, or on an ongoing basis.

Student Practicums

Do you need to complete a required practicum? Bissell Centre works with students from various universities and colleges across Canada.
