Thrift Shoppe

Bissell Thrift Shoppe has been serving Edmonton for decades, providing an economical alternative for shopping and a place to donate clothing and household goods.

The Thrift Shoppe is a social enterprise of Bissell Centre providing low income families and individuals a venue for purchasing high-quality products at very affordable prices. It is also a great place for bargain hunters to visit. Products offered include men’s, women’s and children’s clothing on a seasonal basis, footwear, houseware items, books, and collectibles.

All products sold at the Thrift Shoppe are generously donated by the citizens of Edmonton and surrounding communities. The Shoppe is also fortunate enough to have on board a number of local retailers as regular donors, such as Finesse Home Living. The Thrift Shoppe is an integral program of Bissell Centre, and all net revenues from the Shoppe go directly to fund the many programs of Bissell Centre.

Bissell Thrift Shoppe houses the Sorting Centre, where staff sort and disperse all donations of gifts-in-kind. Bissell Centre asks that donors contributing new and gently used goods take their items to this location, although we do have a drop-off location on the South Side.

Community Donation Collections

We may be coming to a place near you for easy donation drop-off!  Bissell Centre is kicking off a new initiative to reach our donors more easily and generate additional goods to the shelves of our Thrift Shoppe and Community Closet.

Throughout this year, we will be hosting donation drives at various community leagues and schools.  We’ll gladly take gently used books, clothing, household items, and small electronics and appliances.

Check back for times and additional locations.

For more information or to get your school or community league involved, contact Madhu – 780.471.6644, mkhera@bissellcentre.org.
