Supporting Bissell Centre is a rewarding gift that benefits individuals and families in our community. No gift is too small when considering the impact it will have on the lives of the less fortunate.

Bissell Centre relies on the generosity of the community to make a difference in the lives of people living in poverty. Without your support, the future of many Edmontonians – adults and children alike – would be very bleak.

Financial donations provide for immediate resources to help build and maintain programs. There are also many sponsorship opportunities available throughou the year offering various recognition levels. We accept cash, cheques and major credit cards donations either in person, by mail or securely online. We can also process regularly scheduled ongoing pledges. If you would like to become a monthly donor, please fill out the attached Pre-Authorization Form to have funds securely and automatically withdrawn from your account. Click here for form.

If you are currently a monthly donor and would like to cancel the automatic transaction through your account, please click here for cancellation form.

Bissell Centre is now a member of Imagine Canada’s Ethical Code Program, which demonstrates we are complying with accepted practices for soliciting and managing donor dollars. This is important because you, our supporter, is entitled to transparency and the greatest impact possible for your investment in us.

In-Kind donations are greatly appreciated and are a good alternative for those who wish to support the work we do with hard goods and materials. Gifts of lightly worn clothes and housewares are accepted. We are currently in need of the following:

Men's Clothing and Accessories (all sizes and types welcome)
Coffee
Powdered creamer
Sugar
Baby formula
Diapers and pull-ups for all sizes

Throughout 2010, Bissell Centre will be at various Edmonton schools and community leagues with large donation bins. Click here for the schedule and additional information.

Furniture Donations: As of October 2009, Bissell Centre no longer accepts furniture donations. We are now in partnership with the Furniture Bank, which provides furniture to those newly housed through a Housing First Program. To donate furniture, contact the Furniture Bank at 780.699.1535. [Note: The Furniture Bank does not accept mattresses, box springs, futons, sofabeds or bed frames.]

3rd Party Fundraising Social gatherings are an excellent opportunity to raise funds for Bissell Centre. A family BBQ, a golf tournament or a Birthday party are some examples of events which can easily help to raise much needed funds for Bissell Centre. Corporate matching donations are provided by many companies. If you support Bissell Centre, find out if your company will match your contribution. Your $100 donation could quickly become $200 through support from your employer.
